“The purpose of my ministry is to prove to those in a hopeless situation that there really is a way out.”
"TO PROVE”
To prove is to first test it myself and know it works. For each song to represent a personal account of what it means to walk through the fire and come out the other end with a melody that’s destined to flow into the heart of each listener looking for someone who has been there and made it out. Talk is cheap and words mean very little when they’ve not been proven. It’s my desire to not leave a doubt in the mind of any listener that this thing of trusting God really is the answer. People can walk away with new strength and determination to keep holding on until the victory manifests in a way that compels them to share with others. I’ve proved it and it works!
“TO THOSE”
“Those”, cover alot of ground. Some degree of sorrow is sure to come at sometime to everybody. It makes no difference what race, gender, shape or size. At some point in the life of every human being there is going to be a long night when the sun seems to have forgotten to rise. It’s then that you’ll be looking for a song.
It was during the darkest time in my life that I became aware of “those”. Being raised in the ministry I would often be witness to so many during my teens who would have suffered a crisis in their life and come to my folks for counsel. I never really stopped to consider their pain. I had an “to each his own” attitude. But later when unexpected sorrow moved in on my life, I suddenly had a flashback of faces that began to haunt me of “those” I had seen in pain in the past and never really understood. I remember well when it actually dawned on me, “this is what real pain feels like”. I suddenly had a desire to comfort everyone I had ever known who had suffered sorrow.
My burden is to reach out to “those” who need to hear from someone who has been there and can tell you what it is to weep in the night, but can also give a first hand account of the “joy” that truly does come in the morning.
The focus of my ministry is on the hurting. The broken that have been wounded by divorce or betrayal. The unsaved person that has come searching for the answer. The “valley weary” saint that’s in need of encouragement for their journey. The confused youth that is facing an uncertain future. The whole and satisfied child of God that simply needs to stock up strength to face whatever tomorrow may hold. My original songs and style of music are designed to reach “those”.
“HOPELESS SITUATION”
Hopelessness is a place of destruction or a place where we can learn the true meaning of Mercy and Grace. Hopelessness only exists in a carnal realm. There is no un-solvable problem with God.
In October of 1982 my husband left me with an eight month old baby girl and the church congregation of which he pastored, in disbelief of our abandonment. I suddenly felt “boxed in” in a hopeless situation. In my pit of despair a rope in the form of a melody was lowered down to me. I learned about hopelessness during this time in my life. What I learned was that it doesn’t exist.
My music is designed to direct one out of the carnal realm of hopelessness into the spiritual realm of hope. Whether it be through humorous light hearted ways of looking at situations from Gods prospective, or serious examples of what it means to go from hopeless to hope. You’re never left wondering how the story will end. It’s always on a high note in perfect pitch! (hopefully).
"A WAY OUT”
It’s been said that God never closes a door that He doesn’t open a window. I’ve found it to be true in my life and it’s been fully documented in each song. They all have a story and a reason to sing them. After years of feeling trapped in situations beyond my control. I found the Lord to be faithful to make “a way out”. Now as my music is heard by those in hopeless situations they follow the sound of the melody and look up to see there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. There really is a way out and He is the way. . . I’m living proof of it!
