Lona was born into a minister’s home and found it a natural progression to marry into the ministry.  In 1982 she and her husband were pastoring a church in Elkins, Arkansas when he went to California for a three week revival, but never returned.  He unexpectedly left her with an 8 month old baby girl and a congregation searching for answers.  In the years to follow she found herself clinging to a song, vowing that one day she would tell her story, and here it is.

She has written a book detailing the sorrowful moments of being a single, divorced mother in a world of believers who held a strict standard against it.  “Suddenly there were churches I was not welcome in,” she recalls.  Not realizing their rejection was a the very thing pressing her into a deeper walk with God.  The landmarks in her progress would be documented by the songs she wrote along the way.
